Printer Problem

When I want to print off an item and press the print button a window opens up titled "Save the file as" and I don`t know what I should do next. I usually am able to just press `Print` and the printer follows suit. What has gone wrong? and please help. tia.

Your default printer has probably been changed to something like a PDF writer.

Goto control panel, double click on printers look for your printer in the list and then right click on it and select set as default printer.

Nope....didn`t work, found it, did it, still doesn`t print.

what happens when you select print from the dropdown box under file ?

Unless you mean, what is in the File name ....it shows `xps` hth`s

.XPS is what you get when you try and print using the mocrosoft XPS image writer, so it still sounds to me like you have the incorrect thing set as the default printer. if you go into control panel > printers which one from the list has a little tick next to the icon for it? as that will be the default printer.

If the correct printer has the tick next to it then go for the age old... restart the computer and try again.

After much deliberation and consternation I have found I had the settings wrong and have now printed a whole page of this post and I`m chuffed to bits. Thanks for all your help.
