With the number of stabbings carried out in London, the Parole Board sees fit to release a convicted knife killer back onto the streets of London.

Why London? So he can be close to his relatives, Ah.

/// It is understood Chindamo, currently in a Suffolk jail, will move to a hostel in the north London area to be close to relatives.///

He won't be sent back to his native Italy, because he has spent most of his life here in Britain.

That's a new one, they generally won't be sent back from whence they came, because they may face torture or other horrible things.

Let's hope he has to face horrible things, here in Britain.

As he's to be released he must be a reformed character. He will undoubtedly be an asset to the community he settles in.
He could well be reformed....let's just see if anyone gives him a chance?
Why do I sense some deja vu with this revelation? Now, that certainly wouldn't even have been an option had we still had capital punishment, would it?

Wonder how the victim's family's feeling right now?
Well no doubt there'll be a clamour of yoghurt knitters to put him up! Gromit, jake, opportunity for you!

Savage should rot forever if you ask me.
ummmm,
"gives him a chance" - Like he gave the headmaster?
The family of the victim, Philip Lawrence, would be justified in feeling doubly miffed. The lad Mr Lawrence died to protect went on to serve 5 years for a gun crime.
sandyRoe,
"must be a reformed character" - Really? How do you figure that one out?
The parole board wouldn't release anyone unless they knew he was a reformed character and had showed proper contrition.
Orc.....that's not the point. He's being released. If he's not given a chance what does the future hold for him? More crime?
Do any of you have first hand experience with a family member or close friend being a killer or a killing victim?
Yes. I do.
Yep. My Dad's mate son was murdered in Thailand. My mate was stabbed on a night out and died a few days later.
I asked 4 miniquestions within a singular big question structure sandy so do not know exactly what the yes was to. Care to elaborate?
The Australians protect their citizens.

Are you some form of wind-up artist?

How many killers have been released to kill again?

If the answer were one, then that would have been one too many.
HugoJohnson, You asked if anyone here had a relative who was either a killer or a victim. My brother was shot dead in the early 1970's. The killers were never arrested.
ummm: "Orc.....that's not the point. He's being released. If he's not given a chance what does the future hold for him? More crime?"

He should stay in jail, he should not have a future, Mr Lawrence had his taken away by this piece of vermin why do you carry any sympathy?
Sorry for your losses I just wanted to ask Sandy and Ummm did this change your views on killers today and their leniency ? Or are you of the same mindset?
sandyRoe,
Not wishing to be insensitive, but did your brother lose his life during the so called "Troubles" in N.Ireland?

Please feel free to tell me to mind my own business if you don't wish to elaborate.
I was angry then. I think I'm more mature now. Only in exceptional cases should a person be imprisoned without any hope of eventual release.
