Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

herbs and vegetables quiz

Quiz on herbs and vegetables. Two clues stumping me.
Clue 1. Fold exchanges Potash for direction to follow permit.
Clue 2. Movement loses 1000 and exchanges drink for nitrogen.

To give you an idea this clue "A grave without Boron collects mixed grain" the answer was TOMATO.
That was TOMB take away the B and OAT mixed up gives you TOM ATO.
Convoluted did you say!

loses means remove the M = otion
exchange drink for nitrogen means replace the T (tea) with N = onion

1. lettuce permit = let + fold = tuck, remove k (potash) and substitute e (east)

Just twigged the first one the answer is LETTUCE .Fold is TUCK, lose the K for the Potash and put in E for direction. Permit is LET so LETTUCE. That's only taken me about three days!

Thanks to JMR27 and bibblebub for the two answers, I just got the first before I got back to the board but thanks for that both of you, goodness knows how much longer I would have been at that if you had not supplied the answers!!
