MM Links Solutions July 2010 [Week 4]
12 Answers
For this fourth week in JULY, King John (aka rockfordill) returned to his benevolent self and distributed a generous helping of points. Recalling his life as a cowboy in the Midwest, he chose the links:
Prairie SCHOONER
SWEET Corn
CATTLE Ranch
Wagon TRAIN
Out of a healthy turnout, many entrants went with Prairie Oyster, which John considered but rejected as he knew it as another name for sweetbread!

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.It was beejay1124 who opened the game munching SWEET CORN for TWO POINTS followed closely by grannydi heading up a WAGON TRAIN for another TWO POINTS. Entrant #7 was gen2 who picked out CATTLE RANCH to complete the early trio of successful links.
Two points were also awarded to Grenmus, seekeerz and slaney for following beejay’s sweet lead; together with Jools, (league leader) Aquagility, Strix and patchett for hitching up their wagons to follow grannydi. In the midst of all this activity, both deecee131 and Dustybun proved winners with double hits in good time for FOUR POINTS.
Shortly after the clock brought down the axe, both Reg (as in Paulineward) and Jim (as in JimJools) made single hits for One Point each! Many others picked up a single point before Handbaglady hitched up her PRAIRIE SCHOONER to join grannydi’s Wagon Train for THREE POINTS. Equally impressive were the Two Points scored by teacher1 (congratulations for your win on Spectator) and wickedtongue.
However, pride of place must go to jobjockey for getting three hits out of four. However these occurred quite late in the game and so warrants only THREE POINTS. Nevrtheless, I have no hesitation in conferring on jobjockey the title of HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK.

In the meantime, this is crofter signing off.

Thank you, as always, crofter,
but only the Americans could confuse a generative organ with a hangover cure:
Prairie Oyster
INGREDIENTS:
1 whole raw egg
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Sweetbreads to us Europeans are the pancreas and/or the thymus - both delicious, breaded and fried!!
Not so sure about cooking those orbs thus!
