Same clue from another crossword Nov 09. Collusion suggested as the answer but I'm not convinced. Are you sure of your first N. The only possibilties for the letters you have have given according to Chambers are Centurion, Confucian, Confusion and Contusion.

It's the same crossword, believe it or not. closing date this week.

Obviously the other correspondnent was/is as confused as I am.

Reasonably certain 'N' is correct.......
