Only half an hour to go, then that's me off on me long hols. Sea legs fit, strap-on ready, lifejackets serviced, ropes cleaned & deck shoes gripped. Bikini packed, as is suncream and half a dozen books & some special wine.

See you, hopefully, in 3 weeks' time. If you talk about me when I've gone, please make them nice things ;-)

It secures me to the side of the deck chuck, so I don't fall overboard in rough seas. It's a strap contraption with a big chrome thingy on the end - a bit like putting a toddler in those reins then tying the reins to something immoveable.

I am sailing with Plaid, his brother & kids from Seattle along the coastlines of Dorset, Devon & Cornwall. I am looking forward to corrupting them - they need to learn the Ways of La Salla.
