The KM Links Game - August week 4
68 Answers
Good morning everyone - and welcome to the final contest for the month of August. Yes another month has flown past, winter is loosening it's hold on this part of the world, spring flowers are blooming and hay fever abounds !!
And yet again, Kate presents us with four challenging words for us to match up with - and I can see some interesting matches being made with -
SINGLE
SPEAR
PASS
FLUSH
Will it be Spearmint this time or the perennial Spear Grass ?? Just a sample of what to expect !!
As usual all and sundry will be made very welcome and I hope to see some of the missing links from last week returning to the fold. The contest will remain open till midnight Sunday and I will post the results early Monday, they may well be awaiting you when you wake in the morning, and while word lengths are really only governed by imagination here, please don't forget when you go to MM !!
Time is ticking steadily away, time for me to find the starter's pistol - Good Luck everyone

I'm not sure that I'm the one who should try explaining this to you as I'm not very good at it.
Steff posts four words each Saturday and we are to guess what would be the best word to go along with it.
Today she posted :
Single
Spear
Pass
Flush.
Note that for Single I put the word Malt making Single Malt while my hubby put Phase making Single Phase.
You then post your answers and Steff counts how many of us got correct answers for which points are awarded.
Go ahead and have a go.
You will also find the MM links game further up the page so have a go there also.
Hope this helps?
Onty

You ask "Ok I'm hopelessly lost. What is this game?"
It is an idiot pursuit but great fun as is the companion game MM Links.
The Saturday Telegraph has General Knowledge Crossword in which four clues are highlighted. In the Monday edition of the Telegraph there is another general knowledge crossword called Herculis in which another set of four clues are highlighted.
The idea is to guess in advance of the Monday edition what those four linking words might be.
Seekeerz, our Australian friend, monitors this competition. For those who do not get the DT she early on a Saturday firstly posts the clues and at around 7am Brit time she then posts the answers to those clues.
There are no prizes for guessing the right link words and there is no rush (it isn't a race) just the honour of guessing correct. On Monday she publishes the score sheet for that weekend and at the end of each month Seekeerz publishes the score sheet for that month and then with the new month we all start again with a zero score.
Join in, it's lunacy but some of the contributors are quite sane. Promise!!
