Where to live in Devon with family?

Hi,
we are family with two little girls (3 and nearly 5) looking for a place to live in Devon with good schools and nice family life.
We are working from home so we can live anywhere. based on my research the schools in Devon do not have such great Ofsted report for whatever reason. Could anyone recommend a good area?

We live in Honiton, but do not have personal experience of schools here. My neighbour's grandchildren of varying ages all go to schools which the parents are more than happy with. It is a beautiful area to live, lovely countryside, can get to the coast easily, good transport links, rail, M5, A303 up to London etc. We moved here 7 years ago and it was the best thing we ever did.

Thank you Oldmegan, your answer is very useful. I checked the Ofsted reports from the schools in your town and it seems to be better then the schools on the beach. I wonder why, I checked quite a few schools already.

I live in Somerset but pretty close to Devon. I think Tiverton/Culmstock/Collumpton area might not be bad choice for you. It's not too deep into Devon for the prices to be extortionate, close to Exeter and Taunton for shopping, good local shops. Primary schools are good around there and the secondary school Uffculme is excellent. I'm considering uping sticks and moving ten miles so mine can go there.

OK, iviv, if you need any more detailed info about schools, pse ask. One of my neighbour's daughters is a secondary school teacher in Cullompton. I am sure between us we could help you. I know the primary school in Feniton, which is really close to here is really excellent.
