Where can we buy Kitchen Hand Towels.?

Some ten years or more ago we bought from 'Harveys' a dozen hand towels (not tea cloths) for use in our kitchen. They are woven like bathroom towels bit are embossed with kitchen items.. such as herbs and spices and other home and kitchen designs.. However we are unable to find replacements as internet purchases and cannot buy them locally.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a source of decorative towels which measure approx. 15 by 27 inches.

We are awkward individuals and whilst always appreciative of ABers responses we have always avoided ebay and would not buy anything from a site outside of the uk.
Only wish our local co- op sold such items; unfortunately it is purely a food store.

You're missing out, Vivandorrron. I have had many bargains from eBay and have no problem with buying from the US. I recently bought a bolt of beautiful and unusual material from America that is not available in the UK.

What I like about Ebay is that it have everything you could ever want to buy and stuff that you didn't even know existed.

In six years of buying and selling I have had no problem using their site.

Everyone to their own, but no way am I going to chance my arm buying from overseas and, whilst I respect what folk are saying in this thread, I still remain fearful of buying from E/bay because I have been led to believe that some individuals have been ripped off in transactions.

I used to buy these from our Co-op until they did a refit,
I've also bought from our nearest local outside market. (usually 3 for £1.99)
If you try the shops, ask for for Guest towels, (otherwise they try to sell you large hand towels) and depending on how much you want to
spend, try shops like Christy (outlets), or Textiles Direct. You don't say where your
nearest large town is.

Vivandron, I understand your caution, but eBay has introduced many measures to protect buyers these days. I buy and sell on eBay all the time - I bought nearly all the lovely stuff for my wedding a few years back from as far afield as Australia, and I sell to all over the world. International transactions have never been a problem for me, and it is not difficult to restrict your buying to the UK - each listing shows where the goods are being sold from, so you don't unwittingly buy from overseas. If something should go wrong, eBay can intervene to get your money refunded. I don't doubt there are a few bad eggs out there, but you can't go far wrong buying towels...

i have made 666 transactions on ebay, buying and selling, over about 5 years.
I have sold my unwanted stuff and bought both new and second-hand goods.

In all that time, i only once received something that wasn't as described, and paypal got the seller to give me my money back.

There are now outlet stores on there - next, debenhams & tesco, to name but a few.

It also does give you the chance to buy certain items that you can't get in the uk. My mum's toilet is a funny size, and she has never been able to get a pedestal mat that fits properly. She found an ebay shop, based in the u.s and now buys them from there - without any problems at all.

give it a go! You may just find what you are looking for!

crisgal I don't doubt a word of what you have said but I do not think it is the sort of site in which I wish to become involved. I have a friend who was selling items on e/bay and had problems. If a seller has problems a buyer is in an even worse position.

Please don't take one's person's bad experience as a bad reference - loads of us buy and sell every night on eBay, I've sold two things tonight, and all is very well - but up to you! If I want to buy something I always look there, before we even think of going to the shops.

When you say you don't want to be involved in 'that sort of site' - i really don't know what you mean. Could you explain please?

Hi boxie.....Sketty is only a few miles from where we live.....keep it a secret if it's possible in AB. It's a small village in the parish of Pennard.( which only has two..so take your pick...it's not Southgate.)
