Where is the best and worst place you've ever been?

Any really funny holiday stories to tell?

My best: Cyprus.

Worst: Marmaris and Mexico.

I've never fancied Las Vegas, but do fancy California !

When our eldest (the idiot) son was 5 we went to Cyprus for 2 weeks. We hired a car, travelled around and did loads of sightseeing and interesting things. These included going up the mountains to see the tomb of Archbishop Makarios, and going horseriding several times.On one of the riding trips the girth strap snapped on the horse I was on.
When he went back to school he was asked to tell the class about his holiday. He summed it up in one sentence:
"They took me to see a dead man in a box, and mummy broke a horse."

The best has to be Cala Bona, Majorca, I love it there. The very worst was Laguna Park ll in Playa de las Americas Tenerife, It was a cheap and awful holiday, full of cats, cockroaches (two hi-jacked the suitcase and came home with us dead I might add) and Time share agents.

Too many good ones NoM...the worst..I think it has to be Majorca...we arrived just after a storm had blocked all the coast roads(we arrived in the dark)...had a villa that was quite high up and we got bitten to death by mozzies...and then we got hit by lightning...and the pool at the villa was freezing

AYG... I've never been to Majorca, but I've heard it's beautiful.

Red... what was California like? I long to go visit the vinyards and do a hot air balloon ride over the Napa Valley.

Mazie... I used to get bitten to death in the summer months in Spain. :-(

Thinking about it Kenya was about the best. We did a hot air balloon safari at dawn and stayed in the most amazing tents...yes, thats the best one

They have some beautiful beaches in Kenya, as I've been given to understand. I wouldn't mind going to Mozambique. That's the destination du jour right now.

Best hols: Mauritius, the Seychelles, Australia

Omg, Mrs.... those are all the places I want to go!

My friend had the holiday of a lifetime for her 40th. Her parents took her to Dubai, Mauritius, South Africa, Zimbabwe and back to Dubai. Lucky cow.

I also love Monte Carlo.....My Sister lives in New Zealand, I think I may be going there next year

Funny you should say that, Helen, because LA doesn't appeal to me in the least. I would love to go to Sacramento, Santa Barbara, Lake Tahoe, etc., but not the Celebville destinations.

Aww, Helen... I went to the Turks and Caicos Islands (BWI) in May 2003. If you go around March time, you can witness the migration of the Humpback Whales. Sadly we didn't see anything that amazing, but we did have a close encounter with a Great White! lol.
