Good Morning All.
Here is a link to today's crossword - Cookery by Lavatch

http://thespectator.n...om/epaper/viewer.aspx

It can be found on page 85.

Much easier than last week and cookery in every sense.

Enjoy.

Thanks K. Look forward to tackling this later. Must say I enjoyed 'Something Shocking' last week. Some entertaining but precise clues I thought.

Thanks for the link K, will have a go later. Hopefully it will brighten up a dull, rainy morning.

Thanks to mintyman99 for the pdf link. Easier than last week, but I'm still pondering 25a.

25a maroon

It needs to be 'melted' to fit the theme.
Thanks, kayakamina. 25a was a new one on me.
Yes, much easier. I've finished it but don't understand the word play in 1d.

Mischievous goddess (of temptation) = ATE
that is = ID EST
going around gives IDE ATE ST
shaking bottom gives IDEATES(T)
Thanks for that, tenflags. I was just using "ie".
Andrew
Satisfying & enjoyable, and better than most Speccie efforts IMHO
