MM Links Solutions September 2010 [Week 4]

The Lady Radley (aka Handbaglady) finished off her month as the MM Links setter in fine form. Posting her link words on time AND in the correct section made life ridiculously easy. The “only” remaining problem was to predict her links! They were under the heading “Time Flies and Fishes Swim” and took the form:

Time CAPSULE
DRAGON Fly
STAR Fish
Swim BLADDER

She had been a “Star” all month and refused to be anything but enthusiastic. In view of her history of bad luck, a few hiccups on AnswerBank would be child’s play for her. But has she played into Pauline’s hands with her “Dragon Fly”? Could anyone show league leader, Aquagility, a clean pair of heels?

This week, it was Dinkypuzzled who opened his account with a healthy “balance” with SWIM BLADDER for the first TWO POINTS. Not long afterwards, the very same link word was spotted by tearinghair to claim her Two Points. However, between these two came Strix with the best entry of the round. Not only did he claim “Swim Bladder” but he was the first of an inspired few who offered TIME CAPSULE to reap a reward of FOUR POINTS to qualify as HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK!

With only two of the hits discovered, the game surged on with DRAGON FLY going next! By Pauline? I hear you ask. Not so! It was slaney as Entrant #13 who picked this one off at a time of 09.03 for her TWO POINTS. Over the next 20 or so entrants, only kawakiri managed to pick up a single point before the game went through its final stages.

With only two of the hits discovered, the game surged on with DRAGON FLY going next! By Pauline? I hear you ask. Not so! It was slaney as Entrant #13 who picked this one off at a time of 09.03 for her TWO POINTS. Over the next 20 or so entrants, only kawakiri managed to pick up a single point before the game went through its final stages.

Over the last dozen entries, there was a second wave of scorers with wickedtongue, jobjockey, Bert Ont-ice, ulysses100, Shazza & mirandasmum each claiming single points, before twix123 brought STAR FISH to the table for the final bonus point!

The League Table after this final week is:

I think the September Champion / October Setter chooses himself. Strix has already been in contact with me by email to offer his support (as have three others). The details are yet to be sorted out, however with Mrs Crofter serving up the evening meal I need to log out for the present.

Mr. O is happy indeed that he managed to get where he did especially with the leader coming up with six points.
I'm getting tired of being told how he is on the same wavelength as the 'most difficult one so far.'
He'll get over it and next week will tell a tale.

Thanks Lady Radley for an interesting month, I finally managed to get on your wavelength but too late to challenge the leaders. Thanks also to crofter for your hard work behind the scenes, I hope that you enjoy your break next month.

So next month we'll have Strix both setting the links and wielding the abacus (mark III) - don't go changing the correct answers halfway through the day!!
