beattie it's not my dog - regrettably I lost beloved BC last year - over 18, blind but still with the breeds' indomitable spirit. I was devastated. Decided to foster for Border Collie Rescue and after trawling millions of sites came up with one rescue centre whose ethos I agreed with (they advocate that all rescue BCs are given a chance of a working home) - anyway, had lots of emails/phone calls etc and decided to go up and work for four days at the centre just to doubly check we were singing from the same hymn sheet. To cut a long story short I foster for them and my avatar is of my first foster. To say he was difficult is an understatement -I have 50 years experience in animal welfare and he is the most ?difficult ( previously mismanaged) dog I have every met! the good news is, I had him for three months, he is now at the rescue centre and in line for a 'bespoke' working home. However, I need a holiday!!!
