Just one left now. The clues are all cryptic suggestions to islands either in, on or around the UK. Just in case there is anyone new out there who might have an idea, I will pose it again to you all.

a) "Then at a stroke we found it was in Devon." (there is no suggestion as to how many letters are in the answer: Burgh and Lundy are already included as other answers, so it can't really be either of those)

Bell Rock
Also you didnt mention you already had Puffin Island in your answers, so I hope you did use that when someone suggested it - as it came from the wording of the clue.
Drake's island in Plymouth Sound

Thanks for these suggestions, but I can't work out how any of them fit with the cryptic clue. Am I being too obtuse, or should that be thick?

I did use puffin by the way - it fitted well with the other clue.

I put Bell Rock because there are sailor's songs about "strike the bell"
