informiac gave you flycatcher in answer to striped spider-good answer but I think it might be a species of flycatcher to tie in with "striped". The only one I got is the Pied Flycatcher but pied doesn't mean striped? Maybe I'm just splitting hairs. What do you think, informiac?
Oh what helpful people you all are !!!! Thank you so much Infomaniac wizgran & quinie

fish 4. octopus? wasn't there an octopus called Paul who predicted the winners of the World Cup - but I don't know what 'Spanish' has to do with it - but then I know nothing about football.
Thank you so much JMR27 for your help, I remember the octopus Paul but certainly would never have thought of it. I just have 2 dubious ones on ANIMALS don't know if you can help 26 Tardy Crawler & 28 The reader which Infomaniac kindly suggested was worm as in bookworm but can this be described as an animal?
Birdie 73 I've been trying to puzzle out how JMR27 got 34 bittern then I reread your clue! I read it as gnawed fish! Clever clogs here was trying to get bit+a fish. Think my brain needs a rest. Interested to read about octopus Spain won the World Cup this year so I suppose that explains Spanish? Thank goodness JMR got the answer-I was way off track. Good luck.
