FT 13548 - stuck on two clues
2 Answers
I'm stuck on two clues in the Saturday FT crossword from Nov. 20 - FT 13548: -
9A: "Fat little girl?" - I have M?G??. I think it is MARGE (margarine has little fat and Marge is diminutive for Margaret).
I am more stuck on 3D: "Rate of ascent of the Ocean?" - I have S???D. If the answer to 9A is MARGE, then this would be S?E?D and the only logical response that I could think of would be SPEED but that doesn't seem right to me.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
