The Club is now Open.

Welcome again, one and all on this wintry evening.
The fires are all banked up, the Aga is glowing and the warming drinks are almost ready.

Sadly the drawbridge has been frozen shut , so access can only be gained by skating over the moat.
Members are respectfully reminded to leave their skates at the door as the blades would play havoc with the parquet in the grand hall.

There are these prizes for tonight's raffle:

A fish supper. (Uneaten , still in it's original newspaper)
A hot water bottle. (Only one visible leak covered by elastoplast)
Two ounces of pink wool. (Double knitting...different batch numbers.)

Members are also reminded that the buckets in the downstairs conveniences are there for a purpose and are on no account to be used.

Good evening Milady, have made the tailcocks and nibbles, put paper down in the porch for the skates and sleds.
For the raffle I have

A basket of fir cones (ready for spraying gold)
2 tubes of purple glitter
3 crayons
half a pack of cards
Question Author
Thoughtful as ever, Mamyalynne!

I hope you are keeping warm in all this cold ?
And broomsticks?
Question Author
OOOH! Fir cones and glitter....that's the craft talk sorted for tonight. Will you be speaking ,or do you think we could manage without instruction ?

I hope I win the purple glitter...I have an orange dress that could do with a lift.
Question Author
All broomsticks should be parked properly in the appointed place.
Oh Milady I have bronze glitter that would complement your dress better, yes there is a parking spot for broomsticks,

I thought I could pop a tray of devilled ribs in the aga to warm us through for later.
OK. I'm on my way.
Bon soir, bon soir, bon soir.
I have brought, pour vous, a can of de-icer for the reindeer antlers in the great hall - icicles are so dangerous when dropped from a great height. A box of turkish delight and liquorice toffees - strange mixture (the ones with the teeth marks in are not my favourites). A calendar for 2010 - dont mention the dates - i figged the pictures are still pretty.

Welcome Ena and thank you so much for the sweeties.
I must say how well you are looking tonight.....are you in evening dress? No hair net I see.
Why are you talking foreign, though ?
Question Author
Hello DSJ too, when you get here.
Here I am. It was a long walk from the broomstick park. Perhaps your man, M'lady, would clear a path through the snow for us.
Question Author
I'll certainly ask him when he arrives, but he's been having trouble getting through this week,
Thank you, it would help. Are you expecting other guests on brooksticks tonight?
Or even broomsticks!
Question Author
We never know what to expect here......
we find it best to be alert at all times......
I have today extended the invitation widely as it is the season of good will after all.
As you see, I've got raffle prizes here. The usual box of Black Magic but tied with festive ribbon this time and also this little red matchbox. You have to guess its contents.
Question Author
'Tis the season.....

How I agree with that sentiment, though it may mean more work in the tailcock and gluhwein department......
Question Author
Oh, a riddle...how lovely.

I'll have a ponder and guess later.
