for as long as i can remember i have entered quizes and never won so much as a bean .
Have any of you ever won a signiicant prize from a magazine or the telly from a competition ?

My mum enters loads so far she has won; lots of shampoo etc sets, a pair of his and her mountin bikes, a set of dumbells, a rediculous amount of money of a holiday to france with brittany ferries (where we went last year), aswell as a lot of money off this businessman with which she paid the deposit for this house.

i did win some things such as

videos, signed Boyzone cd (back in the late 90's), mascara (worth £15), some otheer bits n bobs but never won any money unfortunately :-(

Sort of related - I won £10 on a scratch card last week. And I literally never do scratchcards but something made me pick it up??

I've won small things, the best one was a teddy from the radio in Birmingham. I won a washing machine in Birmingham too, from the local paper.
I do go in for TV comps eg Dickinsons Real Deal, but I tend to think that the smaller the publication, the more likely I might be to win, less competition!

my ex-father-in-law won a car on a lottery scratch card. he couldn't drive and he gave it to one of his 4 children. it caused no end of problems.

And I think she's won a telle before, plus a cute baby picture competition that she entered with a picture or me won us a load of baby stuff.

oh i did win £200 on a slot machine, although i did put £20 in there.

this was about 10 years ago, zzxxee. it was worth £18k and the car showroom offered him £16k cash, which he turned down.

my daughter came runner up in a bonny baby content when she was about 8 months in butlins went up to get the rosette and she projectile vomited all over the judge !!!

I once won the £10 prize in our local paper for completing the crossword. So for that one week only, I was, TheWinner.

Morning zzxxee! With my luck? You have to be joking ! I merely complete crosswords and the like for my own gratification and further knowledge.
However, I did enter my Newfi at the age of 6 months into the puppy section for Newfoundlands at the New Forest Show. Every other dog in the ring was 50 - 51 weeks old and Bosun was a complete baby. He was sick as soon as he entered the show ring and I only had a tiny pocket hankie to try and clean him up. He came last, but I was so proud of him!
