Star Trek The Next Generation, buy Season 1 or not?

I want to get my best friend who loves Star Trek a full Season of Star Trek the next Generation, but I hate Star Trek and I can only spend up to 10 pounds. I found Season 1 for less than 8 (worldofdeals.co.uk), but I'm not sure if that would be a good season to get her. Any ideas, or what do you think?

Season One is as good a place to start as any - maybe it isn't the best season of TNG but it seems daft to buy her a season from the middle.

You could try the 'Time Travel' box set which has episodes from TOS, TNG, DS9 & VOY

Starting at season 1 is a good idea and you have an easy present for the following 6 years (season 2 etc...)

P.S. How can you hate Star Trek????

it took until the 3rd season for TNG to really take off

I think that the first series was too serious and it was totally different from the ones that followed.

However it is a nice, thoughtful gift.

I am a Stargate Atlantis fan and have seen all of the episodes bar one (couldn't watch them murder Carson Beckett). I bought all the box sets and have watched them again a few times. Pure escapism and great fun.
