are there any other middle aged women out there who hate shopping for clothes ? I used to love shopping but now I'm just not interested, whether its the sales or not. I am not particularly overweight, so its not that, I have plenty in the wardrobe which I don't even wear, let alone buying more. Its not a money thing either. I just have no interest - and even if I do have a good shopping day, I can never find anything I like (either too young or too mumsy) and I just find myself getting annoyed and disinterested, and wanting to just go home and not buy anything. I am more interested at looking for things for the home, like vases and cushions and things like that. Is it just me ? Am I the only grumpy old woman out there ?
Sorry me again. I have friends of the same age who absolutely love buying clothes and more clothes and love going into all the shops. I just tag behind like a donkey or go to Waitrose and buy some food or look in Habitat instead.
No you are not alone, I am 34 and have no interest in buying clothes, I try but then I don't even know what my 'style' is or like you said too old or too young. If I had a spare £50 i'd defo spend it on housey things!
I'm with you smurf, If I want something I go on line, go to M&S if I change my mind about it I know I can take it to one of their stores and change it or a refund. - No probs.
No you are certainly not alone, smurf. I might look in M&S if I am going through, especially if the sale is on - but the idea of going out with friends just window-shopping is hideous to me. I go out with a list, I get what I want, I come home. I mooch in Homebase and Dunelm Mill at cushions and stuff, but hardly ever buy anything these days. I don't need new clothes - I bought 2 pairs of leggings in the M&S sale this spring, and a jumper in our local factory shop.
I'm with you on this one.
As a six foot stick insect I have trouble finding anything to fit.
My look, according to my teenage daughter, is "elderly rock chick"
Nothing wrong with it but I dress for myself, am in a happy relationship but it's happy whether he likes what I wear or not. Single or not I still do not enjoy shopping for clothes it does nothing for me, I work in fashion retail and it amazes me how many women want approval from their man before they will buy something new or return things because he didn't like them! My opinion though...
if u dont wear the clothes in wardrobe get rid of them to charity. When you go out instead of looking for something you like, pick up an item you wouldnt normally buy and try it on. You may surprise yourself.
something fashionable. I used to wear alot of tunic tops as didnt like my belly, but i picked up a fitted top and found they did more than my figure. Although if me and my mate go shopping we try on hideous clothes for a giggle. My leapord skin cat suit was so sexy.
