According to lists Shropshire is largest without coastline
I always thought it was North Yorkshire
Yorkshire as a whole, but as Mrs points out, its split up into North, South and West (is there an east)? Think Hampshire is larger than North Yorks ?
Yes it depends on how the question was worded. For Shropshire to be right the question would have had to say that counties with coast lines were excluded.
I am right - it is North Yorkshire
