20d. It warns of poor visibility all round, as amid thrashing of gam (7). I have ME_AF_G, all pretty certain (the A coming from another answer on this site). This is my first ever Azed, and the penultimate clue!

A megafog is a multidirectional foghorn so it warns of poor visibility all round.
wordplay is EG in anagram of 'OF GAM'
I admit 'e.g.' is a bit weak for 'as'

Thank you, Calibax. I have never seen the word, but it could be a pretty obvious coinage. However, I have NO idea how it fits the word play. Or indeed the definition, as it would surely BE "poor visibility all round" rather than warning of it?
