Message seen on the site from the quiz setter

I am the setter & main seller of the Number Hunt Quiz, in aid of St. Guthlac's Ladies' Guild in Market Deeping, which went on sale just over a month ago and runs until mid-May. It is still being advertised on this site & is selling well and copies are also on sale locally.

I beg you please not to ask for answers on this site yet with another four and a half months to go before the closing date. When this happens, potential buyers spot the posting and then don't bother to apply for my quizzes. My charity suffers accordingly.

I'm sure you will understand. I hope you are enjoying this quiz and I look forward to receiving your completed sheets in due course. Happy quizzing!
I TOTALLY understand the quiz-setters views BUT do wonder just where or how you are supposed to find some answers ... not just for this quiz, I hasten to add, but any?

I have just two answers to find for this Numbers Quiz but have now exhausted all realms of investigation ... have spent hours "Googling" etc., even mulling over answers to the point of not being able to sleep (that's ok - it's all part of the fun ... I think!)

So at what point do you give up and send in an incomplete form (I don't mind returning forms with wrong answers but not with blanks) or do you experienced quizzers (I am quite new to it!) have ANY tips on how to find the answers other than asking at The Answer Bank?????
You're better than me BetteK, I'm still short on 7 of them. The best way is usually to ask for clues rather than the answers, then at least you have done some work. Also, when the closing date is still so far off, it makes fundraising more difficult for the quiz setters as apparently they don't sell so may quizzes.
I've sent dozens in over this winter with absolutely no luck, but I do enjoy making my brain work. Often if you leave them for a week the answer just comes to you.
The more you do, the better you get as you can sometimes read the setter's mind, and get to know what techniques they use. Keep trying, it's such a great hobby.
Thanks hellywelly - would much rather have a further clue than be given the answer outright.

Have had this quiz now since beginning of January so have done a lot of putting it down and coming back to it. I am happy to support various little charities and am not doing this with any intention of winning ... see it more of a challenge against myself to find the answers - I have always enjoyed quizzes and then found you could send for some from here and so thought I'd do so mainly to give myself that challenge!

And I sure am doing that ... simply can't get a grip on those last two questions and don't know where to go from here. Thanks for your advice ... much appreciated.
PS : something that I do find a little bit annoying though is people asking for answers that were very easy to find by using a search engine or reference book. xXx
Like question number 4, when all you have to do is put in google "name the Essex cricket team" and you find a batsman with a number in his name.
