Tv actor name wanted

Hello,

This will come across very vague, but i am trying to find out the name of an english actor who had grey hair, probably aged between 50 and 60. I seem to remember him popping up in some sort of tv advert selling some kind of insurance. I have his face pictured in my head but that doesnt help when googling!

I would say he looks like a shorter version of Ian Lavender (In his time in Eastenders)

Shut your eyes, visualise his face, can you see him in any films you mite no, then google the name of the film, then go threw the actors in the film, sometimes works for me...

I can visualise him as playing perhaps a vicar/bishop in a comedy sitcom or Sketch show??

He's one of these actors you see all the time just popping up in various tv roles.

I have a horrible feeling if anyone identifies this actor they'll turn out to be Irish, Bald, black or long dead :-)

could be christopher ryan. best known as mike from the young ones, he has also done some ddgey adverts.

all i need is one of the shows he appeared in or tv adverts.
Then i can search that show on imdb.

Its not father ted by the way.

The biggest clue i can give, like i said is that he looks like a shorter version of Ian Lavender (Pikey) but as he was in Eastenders.
