Now the EU seriously are taking the proverbial.....

Come on EU-philes can you justify MEP's facelifts on the taxpayer then?
Can we now get out of this ridiculous club and get back to what we signed up for orginally?

Seriously, this has all become too much. We shoudl pull out of the EU (all sections of it including the ECHR beofre the nit pickers start) and work closely with the commonwealth that is strategically placed and far more aligned to our way of thinkng.
I have no problem with traed deals for the EU but that is as far as it should go.
And lets remember we import more from Europe than we export so I'm sure htey would do a deal, despite all the EU-philes bleating.

///This year’s £3million budget for Euro MPs’ medical expenses ALSO covers alternative therapies like lymphatic drainage, a delicate massage that helps the body eliminate toxins.///
I've changed the most important word to capitals. The budget is for medical insurance (as mentioned a bit further down in the report), so that amount is NOT being spent on face-lifts, spas, massages and the rest. It is being spent on medical insurance which includes such treatments in the cover as well as all the normal stuff you would expect to be covered.
BUPA includes cover for some alternative therapies, so would you also care to get outraged over employees of UK firms taking advantage of that when their company provides BUPA cover for them ? After all it affects the bottom line of those great british companies accounts, which means less tax revenue for out cash strapped government, which means we all have to pay a tiny fraction more tax to cover that loss.
No ? Well in that case remember that the £3 million is a fraction of the EU budget, and would make no noticeable difference to the Treasury here.

R1Geezer, I have no idea what might be covered by medical insurance (other than knowing that BUPA cover some alternative therapies).
Reading that article, it seems to me that someone has read the details about what is covered by the insurance, then wrote an article highlighting some aspects of it with minimal mention of the rules which apply to accessing those services, or to actually find out how many MEPs and their families made use of them.
So yes it does mention Viagra, but only if the condition stems from a major illness, which is true over here too. Boob jobs ? Ever heard of reconstructive surgery following breast cancer ? Some other forms of cosmetic surgery are also available on the NHS, provided you meet the qualifications. Drug rehab ? Can be obtained on the NHS here too.
At least the Express are honest enough to admit that they are running a campaign to get us out of the EU, which explains why they play down the insurance aspect and the normal medical stuff play up the rest.
