Part cooking jacket potatoes
21 Answers
Hey guys!
Could I get away with microwaving jacket potatoes before going out this evening, then doing the oven cooked bit when we get in? We normally do them this way (micro then oven) but going to the gym (yippee!) and will get home about 20.45, so leaving the whole of it til then will mean it takes forever and will be eating pretty late.
Or is there another way I could do them quickly, or part now and part later but still getting the oven cooked bit?
Ta!

So the quickest way would be best! The oven bit takes long enough as it is!
Hey ubasses - Timer!? we dont have the luxuries of one of them on our oven! We live in a little flat with a free standing electric oven/hob that must be atleast 30 years old! A Belling compact?! if that means anything!

Cook in Microwave full time then ,wrap in Tinfoil ,when you come home put them in the oven to finish them off,If you could leave your oven on very low before you go out ,the oven will be ready to put in the jackets right away. .Of course going to the gym you should really go to the pub after a few pints of what you fancy ,then on the way home stop for a takeaway curry and a kebab.then when you get home you will not mind waiting for your Jackets .
Hope its all good.

Ahh that does sound very tempting in a mo! Although unfortunately dont think my OH would be too up for that!
Will cook them in a bit then and wrap them up ready for when we get home! Also going to gt the fillings ready, although thats the easy part as Mr Wiggal wants Cottage cheese (heave) and tuna mayo and sweetcorn for me!
