As far as I can see on the net, readings are expressed in milligrammes per decilitre of blood and I'm unable to reconcile this with my own readings which are expressed simply as numbers....HDL is 1.4 and Triglycerides is 0.8.......So, just how do these numbers relate to Mg/dLitre ? Enlightenment would be much appreciated please.

Regards,

guitarboogie.

guitar.....extremely confusing I agree.

In the UK we measure in mmols/litre..........but in the rest of Europe it is mgms/litre.

Your figures of 1.4 and 0.8 are in millimoles per litre and you would like them in mgms/ cc.

5.1 millimoles is roughly 200mgms /cc

Google millimoles/cc to mgms /cc and it will give you a simple formula.

UK, being different from the rest of Europe, does make it complicated.
