calm down dear
Why?
are you not allowed friends doon south at that age?
My 12 year old has had facebook for years.
Why? As long as he is sensible about not being friends with strangers, keeping his privacy settings high and not putting every detail of his life on it then there shouldn't be a problem Dotty. The press like to scaremonger and Facebook seems to get a lot of flak, but it's how people use it that's the problem. My daughter has had an account since she was 12 (almost 3 years now) and she has never had any problems.
I get the impression that is exactly the right age for Facebook. He should probably be given due warning about privacy and how to protect it, though.

well i thought facebook was for over 16s, he could end up chatting to people like mollie and be really really confused lol B00
what, you think he'll end up like docspock by the time he's 15? A troubling thought.

do his parents have the same worries?

And i should think if he chats to anyone even remotely like Molly, he's pretty bloody safe, hardly a rebel is she?

at least he is observant
!@%&£@*(£ I don't talk to anyone I don't know on facebook and I didn't have it at that age either.

Facebook rules:
You will not use Facebook if you are under 13.

I too would be concerned.

age 13 is the minimum age for FB, though I know it becomes popular from year 7 onwards, as long as you keep an eye on things it should be okay
cazz, parents can't keep an eye on the second account their children open using a nickname. That's where the real stuff happens.
you assume that all children are up to no good and secretive hc??

my daughter has a FB account, I know everything there is to know..
I'm very sure you do, Cazz.
