contraception advice needed...
11 Answers
I'm 46 yrs old and 3yrs ago split up with my partner of 19 yrs. I've never had or wanted children so always took pill when in the relationship. I stopped taking the pill 6 months after we split, one of the reasons being as I was getting older the health risks increased. I've starting to get very friendly with a guy & think we may go further with our relationship. Two things on my mind, one of which is contraception... I don't want to rely on him just using condom. Has anyone any suggestions for good reliable contraception that I can use considering my age & are there any health risks for one you suggest? Secondly I do feel nervous about taking relationship further. Feel like it my first time all over again! My ex was my one & only sexual partner & it now been 3 yrs I been single. How long should it be before you think it could get to 'that' stage of sexual activity, I don't want him to think jump into bed with anyone or for him to think I am easy. I really am nervous you can probably tell. I really like this guy & don't want it to be awkward. I even wonder if I'll remember what to do! My ex never had to wear a condom with me, so I don't even know what it feels like to make love with one. I feel really silly asking & its taken a lot nerve for me to write this.
