a riddle answer required

i heard part of a riddle on radio which went,
im divisible by 2 but not by 1 ,i missed the rest except the answer is a pear.
bit vague but anyone know whats missing.

Are you sure it wasn't:
"I am divisible by 2 but not by 1. If i add myself to myself, i become nothing. My whole is half the sum of my total. What am I?"
The answer being zero.

Was the answer definitely " a pear"?
Squarebear's version is better although I disagree that zero is divisible by two but not by one.
Maybe it is something like:
"I am divisible by 2 but not by one of me. If I add myself to myself, I become nothing. My whole is half the sum of my total. What am I?"
I still don't see where a pear fits into it though!
