does anyone know this song?

I remember a song from along time ago that for the life of me I can't find out who did it (or what it was called!) but I remember loving it as a kid.

It was a novelty song I think. It started out as a ballad about some guy walking with a girl, romance etc and then there was a huge thunder crash and the lyrics went something like...'down came the rain, it happened again, the thunder and lightening, down came the rain. The chorus got more manic as the song went on.

Any ideas anyone??

I'm fairly sure that it was just called "Down Came the Rain" and it was sung by someone called Mr Murray.
