Is there somebody who can help me with a query please.

On this site over the last two weeks we have had posters giving letters for the Sunday Express Birthday Quiz that appear to have not been correct when the answers have been worked out...

On May 29 the letters given were  MGGNHLLLEAAAE which turned out to be Noel Gallagher - The "O" and the "R" being given as an "A" and an "M"

On June 5 the letters given were LJPNTTAAAJIRNE which turned out to be Natalie Portman - The "O" and the "R" (same letters - is that coincidence?) being given as two "J's".

I don't buy the Express but can somebody explain this please.

Yes I can explain it, second to the daily mail the Daily Express are the biggest bunch of ******* on earth.

Are you suggesting that on both occasions, the Express got the letters wrong, kev100? and with the same letters missing? - that doesn't seem very likely to me!

Anybody else?

biley if the letters given are: MGGNHLLLEAAAE and the answer is noel gallagher, then please you explain the discrepancy

That is why I am asking! I cannot explain it but hope a Sunday Express reader will.

The Daily Express have made a printing error this week with the Birthday Quiz.  The answer is Natalie Portman.  However, on one of the clues, the highlighted letter was 'J' as in Michael J Fox and it should have been the 'O' that was highlighted.  Mistakes have been made before by them.  One week they failed to give the date for each clue and another week they didn't print a space between the first name and surname for each clue!  Don't hold your breath for an apology re. the printing error - they never make one!  I'm still waiting for the apology for the Daily Express 10 cruise offer!  But then that's another story!

Thankyou Binky. I guess alongside Express errors, if somebody happens to get a clue wrong, then this would throw out the letters needed to get the name too which maybe why this seems to have happened two weeks running. Then again!!

kev100, I apologise as it seems you were correct (after a fashion) but perhaps you could have put it a little more politely.

I accept biley that I could have put it more politely but the simple truth is that I loathe those two publications (I'm not a tory supporter) can we, as they say, agree to disagree.
