Why don't you start a conversation with a complete stranger - nothing too freaky or weird just about something light like the weather or last nights TV or the traffic if your on the bus - see where it gets you

I wont be able to today as I will have to rush home tonight to wash my hair - I'm off out tomorrow

I do that all the time. I haven't been arrested yet.
Someone beat you to it.
Random guy in supermarket talked to me about bread.
>>>Why don't you start a conversation with a complete stranger

They've invented something to make that easier. It's called a 'pub'.

Alba - I know it was your post that gave me the idea

Pub on a school night - not going to happen is it
Unless a complete stranger comes to my home (unlikely), it would be impossible for me to have a conversation with them.
Good grief no! I don't want to speak with half the people I have to talk to, let alone anyone extra.
I have Bipolar Disorder. When I am 'normal' I chat to strangers but when I am manic I think that I scare them a bit. I remember being at the Vets with my little boy and managed to ask/interrogate every other human in the waiting room about their animal and the reason for their visit.

A little voice in my head goes "shut up - stop talking" but I never listen.

Have a nice time out tonight. Going anywhere nice?
>>>Pub on a school night - not going to happen is it

I spent 15 years teaching and 'pub on a school night' was definitely essential for my sanity!

Why not have a nice little walk out Daffy - maybe to the library or newsagent - to meet them - providing you can
eeek, I'm getting the blame again lol :-)

Daffy, you've got us sane, weird and nice ab'ers in your home y'know :-)
>>>sane, weird and nice

Well I definitely qualify for the middle one but I'm not so sure about the other two, Alba.
I talk to strangers all the time, they to ask me about wine in the booze aisle at Tesco, not sure why but it generally leads on to more conversation when they realise I'm not really a wine buff but just as confused as they are.

I never used to talk to strangers but I love it now, there's some interesting people out there.

Buenchico - LOL

Wolf - would it be insensitive to have a giggle at your post too

BTW - It tomorrow I'm going out - to the theatre - dont really want to go but I promised a friend I would - I dont want to go as I work at the theatre so its a 'busmans holiday'
Do that every day, I'm a Dog-walker, we talk to each other.
Complete strangers often come up to me and say "What are you doing in my garden"?

I notice that about Dog walkers - its like walking out on Christmas Day - everyone says Hello then even if they dont normally
Same as Baldric.
LOL @ Wharton
I never knew Ric was a surgeon :-)

Chris, I try to be polite
(don't always work!)
I have just had a conversation with a strange fisherman, well actually it was more of an apology. I was feeding the ducks, did not see him and got him on the back of the head with a Warburtons crust.
