i have a pay as you go, Samsung Galaxy Young phone.
This last two weeks it has played up. Not being able to send texts, coming back as failed. Son has text me several times and i havent recieved his calls or texts.
Have no idea whats wrong, and even Tescos hasnt resolved this problem when i took phone in a while back to ask for their advice.
I'm not clever with these these, so please explain in very simple terms.
Cheers Abers of any help you can give me.
(Tescos just took battery out for me and then put it back)
When I had an Orange PAYG phone several years ago I couldn`t send texts. I phoned them and it was something to do with the service centre number. It was wrong (in the phone) for some reason. I have a Galaxy although it is not the same as yours but anyway...I presume you have the usual Samsung symbols at the bottom of the phone. The square with the back symbol to the righ and the other little square to the left. Tap the text envelope, then tap the square to the left. Tap settings and scroll down to Message centre. Is there a number there? It should start with +44. In my phone, this number had a digit missing so the texts weren`t going through. Make a note of the number and phone the service provider for help.
Sorry crossed posts. It`s not on the main settings number. You need to click the text icon as if you are going to compose a text, then hit the little square icon to the left of the main button and there should be a settings button there. These are the settings that refer to texts.
Many thanks to you all for your help.
Cant see me correcting this at the mo. Driving me a bit nuts! lol.
Hope to get back if I can sort anything out .
Your help is much appreciated!!!
2375, many thanks, hope you are correct and i find an easy way to solve this problem. Wish I was more up to date with these things ...makes me feel quite ancient1 lol. (Will try to sort out text, setting menu)
Have just quickly read a very small notepad they gave with the phone, but no mention of any of the troubles that i have ..only how to get started and safety care.
