Therefore * = 10

* + $ + $= 18
Therefore $ = 4

$ - & = 2
Therefore & = 2

& + * x $ = ??
2 + 10 x 4 = 42

(BODMAS, or PEMDAS determines the order of operations, so the answer is 42 and NOT 48, as some people would incorrectly calculate the answer to be).

Just seen this- Gizmonster is of course right but it makes more sense if the calculations in the question are on separate lines, kenali, ie
* +* + * = 30 (10+10+10=30)
* + $ + $= 18 (10+4+4=18)
$ - & = 2 (4-2=2)
& +*x $= (2+10x4 = 42)
