My grandson, 6yrs has not seen my youngest daughter (adult) for 2 years as she lives in Oz, and only sees my son (adult) approx every 3 months, yet he is obsessed with them when they visit, (in a nice way).

He wants to play, sit next too, cuddle them both all the time, and wont let them out of his sight, and when they have to leave he cry's for ages.

He has plenty of activities, football club, gymnastics & tennis, and a lovely caring mother, so how would a child of 6 know, he is so closely connected, as I dont think he would understand, what an uncle or auntie is at that age, or have I got it wrong?

That sounds lovely:-). I remember when I was very young, having real attachments to some of my mum or dad's friends. I think it was probably just the way they responded to children- they weren't related. It sounds as though your grandson just clicks with them somehow. I wouldn't worry about it.

Come to think about it Pixie, if it wasn't for my uncle bill, (my mothers brother) I wouldn't have been able to have a motorbike when I was 16, as my father was to strict.
He also helped me to drive, and I used to look up to him more than my older brother.

When I was about 21, he asked me to follow his wife, my aunt one night, who he thought was having an affair.
She was, and we became very close, till he died.

Exactly- it may be a personality thing and perhaps he also responds to how pleased the rest of the family are to see them xx
