Walk away & I stumble again (sorry!)

Sorry if you are all fed up of talking about this... but I only managed to tune in to the last hour or so yesterday.

Can anyone tell me why mark went back to his wife? Did he only go back after finding out that Claire was dying?

Am trying to figure out what I missed!!

Claire dumped him to go back to her ex-boyfriend (who she subsequently was going to marry and then didn't) so Andy went back to Elaine (the rat!)

Mark went back to his wife, because in my opinion, (!) she was still his best friend and was there for him when he was sad. She told him that she would be prepared to give it another go, and they must start afresh. He wanted to stay with Claire but she said 'I don't have time to make new memories so I need to focus on the ones I have and the people who helped me make them'.(so sad) Therfore convincing herself she wanted to marry guy form her past.

Thats really wierd. It hardly makes for a satisfactory resolution if the only reason he went back to his wife was cos his mistress didnt want him anymore! Everything I saw of the programme was just really really sad.

Oh well, Lost is on tonight so hopefully that will cheer me up. thanks for your answers!
