Monday=Dynamo
a thought about the Current Month one. Have you tried it using February in a leap year as one of the months? I'd've done it myself, but I don't have the time to try all the variations at the moment

Thanks Shy, I'll try that u never know ;-)
Looking at the "current month" question as a mathematical problem, let us assume that the current month is (b). The only wayit can work is if last month (a) had 31 days and ended on Monday (i.e. Mon 31st), and next month (c) starts on Friday, giving Thursday 7th.

That means that the current month (b) starts on a Tuesday and ends on a Thursday, so it must be a 31-day month. So was last month (a). The current month (b) can only be January or August to give two 31-day months in succession.

Hi, this month question has stumped me, there is no way u can get 38.....if a month ends with the monday being 31st the following month's first thursday will always be 3rd making 34!! So surely there must be a mistake in the question......what does everyone think...any ideas????
Jules, I think you're reading the question wrongly. You have THREE different months to take into consideration.
A - last month (which is where you need the Monday)
B - the current month (which you have to work out)
C - next month (which is where you need the Thursday).

I think you've been looking for the Thursday in the current month, which you won't be able to find.

As Ewood says, it'll work with either a January or an August (but I'd go for August, in case whoever set the question forgot about the December/January crossover period).
