Cardiff - it is now believed that Cardiff (Welsh "Caerdydd") means the fort (Welsh "Caer") of Antonius Didius (The Roman under whom the fort was founded).
London - according to Geoffrey of Monmouth London was named for King Lud but this is largely discounted now. It is now thought the name London is derived from a Celtic term meaning flooding river "Lundonjon" and then "Lundein" or "Lundyn"
Edinburgh - popular belief - named for Edwin of Northumberland
thanks for info we thought number after names would lead you to one place at first we thought it was miles but cardiff and london meet at kidderminster but edinburgh distance was no where near the numbers must mean something else !!!
