But no, it looks as if they're genuine!

Unless 'yellow snow' has got a meaning other than the obvious (and which Google doesn't seem to know about), I can only assume that the formula required is that for urea = (NH2)2CO
(Each of the 2s in that should, of course, be subscripts)

Nah, I'm real all right, but mind is frazzled after working Christmas day and today, only getting back to quizzes properly now. I'm stumped!! but maybe it will all become clear soon
Could it be sulphur in powder form?
Cassell's slang dictionary lists Snakebite Remedy as a 1950s term for Potassium Permanganate. Washing with this was supposed to be a prophylactic against VD.
