I think there was a problem with the link I put up therefore here is my question again...
Hi
I had a lab class which I now have to write up a lab report on. We were required to load 6 DNA samples into the gel tray and run an electrophoresis. The question I have to answer is 'Which is the carrier and which is the infected'. Then I have to explain why.
The problem is they have never explained this to us before therefore I just dont know and cant find anything of any help on the internet.

Please help!!!! :-/

It would be all too easy for me to provide you with the answer here, but you won't learn anything that way. Try Googling "Haemoglobin Electrophoresis" if you really want to take the easy way out. Ideally, I suggest you review your course notes as you must have been given instruction on this technique.
I think Im just going to go and see my tutor tomorrow because everyone seems to be having the same problem. They gave us the protocol on the technique and then provided us with a snapshot and then asked us to explain what it means. However I attended all of the tutorials on this module and they have only ever explained the technique and never given us any advice on atually interpreting the results.
I really dislike the lecturer of this module as he does this all the time.
Thanks anyway

I do think you're taking the right course of action. I conduct what you could call "spot-checks" of the work of all grades of tutors in my department at my own university to try to prevent this scenario happening and I know how easy it is for undergraduates to feel alienated.
There are many reasons why such incidents happen but if you are all unanimous in your views, then take the complaint higher. You can't be expected to write a report on a subject that your lecturer has not explained in depth.
