Japan Nuclear Radiation in Glasgow
Low level radiation has been detected here having travelled over 5700 miles. Other places in the UK will probably experience low levels of Radiation as well. Compared to Chernobyl there should be no danger to the British Public at the moment.
North Wales Hill Farms and the Lake District are still contaminated after the Chernobyl disaster 25 Years on and the livestock are still monitored, a far worse scenario than what has occured in Japan so far. Chernobyl to North Wales is approx 1500 miles.
Makes one think though !

Interesting feature on the Beeb recently. Not that there's much demonstration of this in this thread, but it helps dispell some of the sensationalism surrounding radiation that I think you can find sometimes in the media:

A lady from Glasgow was visiting Wrexham's Chirk district. Her hostess was determined to make the Glaswegian lady feel cheap and unimportant. "My dear," said the Chirk matron snobbishly, "here in the Chirk, Wales' finest, we think breeding is everything." "Oh, really," the lady from Glasgow replied. "In Glasgow we think it's fun, too, but we try to have a few outside interests as well."
