and cream on first then the jam - non of this Devon crap of butter, jam, cream (yeeeuk) - just shows how bad their clotted is and why we down here now have EU trademark protection on the use of Cornish clotted cream, i.e. to stop such poor imitations
As a true Devonian and the humble Scone is an essential part of our traditional Cream Tea, ummm, I think I pronounce it both ways actually but most likely I use Scon more.
This could be war DT!!! Butter!! I eat many cream teas from many different places, I have never heard of putting butter on a scone for a cream tea and to be honest Cornish cream is in every way identical to Devon cream and we also put the cream on first. Ive read that the Cornish cream tea is different, in all honesty there is no difference at all lol
