I wondered if it's just a matter of belief or not or is there any proof even the tiniest piece, that the future is out there? What do others think or know, if the past has been and we have proof as much as there is of it and the present is now and happening, then isn't the future there ready and waiting to happen? How could we tell if it is or is it all just a guessing game?

No the future cannot exist, absolute nonsense IMO.

Any proof on it RATTER? I like the idea of being in a game though it must be evil for all the death and gore tht goes on lol
If the past exists, then why not the future ?

What is meant by a time other than the present existing anyway ?

Prediction isn't determinism. But do either assume a future that exists or not ? Or is the present just continually created, and if so, how ?

My suspicion is that anything and everything can can be part of the past or the future exists in some form I can not hope to describe. In my life I've just 'run a path' through the bits I'm experiencing. I'm in the eternal now, I just don't realise it as it'd blow my mind.

I think like that Old Geezer, that if the past exists then the future could too, it's a possibility. It's all time whether it's past present or future and time goes on and on so the time ahead is already there unless the world blows up but then until that time the future is there for it to happen. I like your ideas, they sound similar to my way of thinking at times.
the definition is 'exists' - and I question something that hasn't happened can exist or actually 'be' - ie the future - it's there, but it doesn't actually and never can, exist or be. - ergo the answer is no. But I'm thick so ignore me!

Lol carmalee, you're not thick and every answer is valid to the person posting it, it's nice to see different viewpoints, it would be so boring just for everyone to agree I think.
@JMR27 - interesting....how specific were the clairvoyent's predictions? Do you recall any of them?
Perhaps everything has already happened. We are currently living history. The future never comes.
*Clairvoyant!
The future does exist because I'm going to post again in a few minutes and naturally you can't yet see it.
<<< ie the future - it's there,>>> - what I should have said is 'it is not there yet and has not happened yet but will happen' which is why the definition is 'exists'
two of my fav quotes

“When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened.”
John M. Richardson, Jr

“The best thing about the future is that it comes only one day at a time.”
Abraham Lincoln
"Any proof on it RATTER?" I rely on common sense fortunately.
How can the future be ahead of the beginning? If the big bang Is the start of everything then If theres a future then the big bang must of happened twice and if thats the case, then does the future have it's own future? and so on? I doubt there is a future because Even that had to start some place.
It depends on where you are . If we look at a planet and the light has taken a thosand years to reach us then we are seeing them as they were a thousand years ago, our present is their past but their present is actually a thousand years in the future . So the present past and future can exist at the same time depending on the position of the onlooker. We get some idea of that when we send or receive signals from the Mars rover. Time has its own dimension . An experiment was carried out some years ago when two planes flew around the world in opposite directions, one travelling in the direction of the earths rotation and the other against it. carrying synchronised atomic clocks but when they arrived back they were showing different times. It was only a few seconds but it happened because of different speeds of travel. You no doubt know the theory that if we were able to fly faster than the speed of light and the journey lasted a week when you got back many years will have past . As I said the passage of time depends
on where you are and what you are observing.
Why is this metaphysical nonsense under "Science"? "R&S" is the place for it.
Have none of you read the following book?

"How to see into the future" by Clair Voyant!
chakka Einstein would be interested to hear your superior knowledge which describes his theory of relativity as // this metaphysical nonsense //.
Agree with modeller on this one, chakka, metaphysical-Payday Loans on your part. Einstein argued for the distortion of time, especially as what are now considered as black holes as time locks in and that, conceptually, may mean the locking in of the future.
Payday=w-ank as in an act of male stimulation.
