Earlier i read a thread about halal slaughter saying that the meat is cleaner as all the blood is drained all blood borne bacteria is flushed out.

As every atom of blood cannot be flushed out of the body am i right in saying this makes no sense and cannot be true?
Another question is how is normal meat slaughtered compared to halal?
Is there any health benefits between the two or is there any taste benefits due to how they're differently slaughtered?

"Normal" meat comes from animals that are stunned before being killed.
I would doubt you'd notice the difference on eating.
No Old Geezer a lot of halal meat is stunned before killing

I'm pretty sure kosher is not though
Question Author
Old geezer are they stunned and then have their throats cut like the halal way?
Are there any pros or cons that stunning has?
"Are there any pros or cons that stunning has? "

You ARE kidding- right?

Boo from a professionals point of view.
Can you answer?
No, gotta admit I can't, I was looking at it purely as a humane way.
I was under the impression that the stunning thing was the major controversy regarding halal meat, but it's optional then ? In which case why is it not just always done and end the disagreement ?
Question Author
I agree boo, if i were to be put to death id want to be stunned before having my throat cut.
Oldgeezer they talk about stunning and electrocuting, are these different things or just different names for the same procedure?
I guess you can stun through various methods.
Question Author
Oldgeezer no offence to you but i'm none the wiser after your answer.
What other methods are there available and electrocution isn't humane the last time i checked unless there's a new painless from of electrocution available?
I think the pro-halal arguement regarding draining of blood is clutching at straws. As far as I know, in abbotoirs the animal is stunned, it`s throat slit and then immediately hung. The blood draines out via the force of gravity. In halal, the same happens without the stunning so same result, different method (one being as humane as possible, the other being inhumane).
No, but you will be better informed.

Whose alias are you, by the way ?
All this makes me want to become vegetarian.

237SJ like you said they sound identical bar the stunning which in itself has a large scope between humane and inhumane.

Naomi, one day they'll be harvesting meat or meatlike products grown in labs or food establishment and they'll probably look back in horror at us backwards past humans that used to hunt or farm meat and slaughter animals for food.
Traditional halal kill has the heart pumping out blood whereas stunning/elec is for large animals, boers & cattle. When stunned the beast is hoisted & jugular severed to kill.
Isn't it the blood in the flesh of dead animals that gives it the juicy flavour?
Oooops *boars* dont wanna kill SA :/
Blood runs from arteries & veins but remains in meat.
