vivandorron My worries are...Will the car start ok.(Hasn't yet failed)....Will the clutch play-up again and stick after travelling a mile over the common from my village and I try to change down into 3rd gear.(Only happens in very cold weather.)
If the battery is the check able type, check it. use the gears more often.

Hi TWR....No problem with battery.....The gears are changed at least four times before hitting the end of the common where I change into third to descend a hill which has a 30mph limit.
I think it is an element of condensation in the clutch cable which freezes when going over the common. So I pull-in and manually (by hand) activate it a few times...then no further problems for the remainder of any journey.
