MM Links Results March 2012 Week 2
12 Answers
Another week with several options, some more popular than others.
Most popular was 'Lobster Bisque' (I really must try it sometime if it is as memorable as it seems to be.), but that was not the link you were seeking.
I can now reveal that 'Lady Diana', aka Grannydi, had the following links in mind when she set the challenge.
BOILED LOBSTER (remember she got sun-burnt last week)
STONE HENGE (that obstacle beside the A303 that prevents it being widened)
FILLET STEAK (juicy, tender and expensive)
FARMER'S MARKET (coming soon to a town centre near you)
Two new players joined us for the first time this weekend so a warm welcome to Nibble and Dickythecook.
New players can be forgiven for not being familiar with the rules and thank you BestDriver for amending your entry.
Regular players (eg BigMac) should not need reminding that THERMIDOR has NINE letters
Scoring this week was a bit on the low side - mainly because there were so many options. So how did you do?

Players Nos 8 & 9, beejay1124 & roslyn251254, then matched FILLET STEAK for 2 points each.
Shortly followed by players 12 &13, fordward & middlestump opting for STONE HENGE for their share of the bonuses.
A spattering of single point scores followed until the stroke of midnight when the magic of the antipodes struck once again as ManxieMo, holidaying in New Zealand, found the final link of BOILED LOBSTER for her two points (Christiana must have left her mojo under the bed in NSW).
We actually had a single double-hitter this week in Handbaglady so:

Nix for Strix but thanx Gen2 and 'Lady Diana'.
As to "Farmer's Market" - an interesting observation - our local one has closed down to lack of interest, i.e. people not buying, when asked why the public said "over-priced" and "not that different" to that which was available locally through the usual retailers.

If, Gen2, you could in North Hampshire I am sure the market would still be up and running.
Sadly what was on offer didn't match that. Otherwise I would have been down there as they opened their stalls.
One example of the stupidity here was that one farmer was selling locally produced Parmesan cheese but in order for it to be so categorised it had to be exported to Italy to be so-certified and then re-imported. Make sense of that!
