... according to Stephen Fry on QI.

Can that be true? Does anyone here believe that man didn't land on the moon - and if so, why?

Then 25% of Brits are morons.
God this has been going on for years
Not possible with the primitive technology that existed then.

The Japanese are desperate to go, and they can't get there now!

And the Americans went there about fifty years ago?

Naaah.
It was all staged, to appear to win the moon race.
Of course they did.

The Russians would have been shouting very loud if they were not actually there.
Well if Stephen Fry said it..................er who knows.
How interesting, the OP questions why some people do not believe things we have only read about in books.
I reckon they landed on the moon.
Of course they did. If it was a scam, then it's the best kept secret by the largest number of people ever, in the world.
They did. A laser they p;ut there has been telling us how far the moon is ever since and the last orbiter to go up there, the LRO (lunar reconnaissance orbiter) took photos. They went to the moon and Buzz Aldrin will punch you if you suggest otherwise. I don't blame him.
i read about it in a book and saw something about space on the telly in colour oh no that was startrek
Any respecting thinking scientific & logical person, based on the evidence available is convinced that .......................................

YES! They did go.

There is doubt over some of the photos that show shadows going in two directions as if they were lit by studio lights.
But think of the number of people who would be required to keep schtum if they didn't land.
Look at any heavily shadowed photo taken on uneven ground. The shadows are fine.
Mike, you may have only read about it in books, but I saw it on the telly along with many other people. It couldn't be faked now and certainly wasn't faked then.
I cant really imagine that 25% of Brits believe that, I dont think I have known it to be seriously contested before to be honest.
I watched it land and take off live. I wrote in my diary....."got up, watched the moon landing, went to Beths." Lol. I was 19.
My last job was as a public astronomer Ratter. I got asked at least twice a day by people who were convinced they didn't go, and at the National Space Centre, they used to do a debate ready steady cook style where you held up cards. Didn't go nearly always won even though they'd just had the facts presented to them.

Mike, before you start getting personal for no good reason - again - perhaps you should think a little more clearly. We haven't simply read about it in books.
That little bean tin landing module with the flappy tin foil sides did not carry a laser.

Or maybe it did.

Because the American government say it did.

And governments never lie.

Okay, they do lie.

A lot.

More than almost anyone.

But you know what I mean.
