A few questions about braille and the blind.

I was wondering why is braille difficult and wouldn't it have made sense for it to have been written as normal letters and numbers but obviously raised?
Are all blind people everywhere taught the same form of braille or are there different forms of it for different languages?
Do you think it would be easier for those that have had sight and lost it to learn braille made from raised numbers and letters they already know in their language and would remember rather than braille as we now know it?
Do blind people who have been blind from birth dream, if so how or can the brain conjure up a "Reality" in their heads from the sounds and knowledge they receive? Can they see in their dreams?
