Many believe that the world will end on the above date, because the ancient Mayan calendar runs out on this date.

Surely it is going to end on the 31 December 2012, because my £ shop calendar and diary both run out on this date?

Does that mean that pound shops are at the centre of a new religion? They certainly seem to be getting large congregations but I foresee tensions arising between devout followers of Poundland and the militant wing of 99p Stores.
